Let’s talk about healthy coffee boosters to add to your morning coffee that will serve your body much better than a spoonful of sugar.

I love a good vanilla latte just as much as the next girl, but the cow’s milk (regular dairy milk) and sugary syrups that are used by most coffee chains are a huge no-no for your health!

This doesn’t mean you have to give up your favorite morning drink! That’s why I have come up with a list of healthy ingredients to add to your coffee to give it a flavor and health boost.

5 Healthy Coffee Boosters1. Almond or Cashew Milk

If you haven’t made the switch to nut milk, now is the time to try it! Going dairy-free is absolutely life-changing for your health. Your skin will be absolutely radiant and glowing and your body will feel less puffy overall. More on that topic later though! If you prefer your coffee in latte form, nuts milks are a great base. They are creamier and more flavorful than cow’s milk, so you may find that you don’t need to add any sort of sweetener. My go-to coffee drink is an almond milk latte.

2. Collagen Powder (Vital Proteins)

Collagen peptide powder is one of the most versatile ingredients – you can add it to just about anything, including your coffee. Collagen has a number of health benefits, including improving your skin and hair, reducing joint pain, and healing leaky gut. The great part is the powder is virtually tasteless and dissolves completely. You won’t even know it’s in your coffee, although when your skin starts glowing from the collagen boost you’ll be able to tell 😉

3. Protein Powder (blend with ice, frozen banana, almond milk, nut butter)

Sometimes you need a little more substance with your coffee; that’s where a coffee smoothie comes to the rescue.Think of the coffee as a nice flavor and energy booster to a thick, creamy smoothie! My favorite recipe is below:
1 cup almond milk
1 frozen banana
1 or 2 shot of espresso
1 TBS almond butter
Optional: handful of ice

4. Cinnamon

Cinnamon is a somewhat underused spice in my opinion. There are a number of research backed health benefits, such as antioxidants, anti-inflammatory, increasing brain function, helping with balancing blood sugar and weight loss, and fighting infections. Try adding a dash or two of cinnamon on top of your latte. It’s warming and delicious!

5. Truvia

If you’re more of a black coffee and sugar person, give Truvia a try as a healthier alternative to cane sugar. It’s made from plants and is 100% natural.
