Dairy-Free Chocolate Banana Nice Cream makes for a delicious frozen treat without the added sugars and dairy. With only 4 real food ingredients, it’s quick to make and ready to serve in 10 minutes or less!

Who said that ice cream can’t be healthy? Now I’m all for the occassional indulgence, but this Chocolate Banana Nice Cream is the perfect treat that won’t leave you in a sugar coma. It’s made with real, whole ingredients, like bananas and avocados.

If you wanted to make this Nice Cream even more extra, you could top it with a crumbled up Chocolate Chip Cookie (this is a must-try, speaking from personal experience).

How to Make Chocolate Banana Nice Cream

First, you’ll need to have your frozen bananas all ready to go. Make sure to peel your bananas and slice them in half and place them in a container or freezer bag at least 12 hours before making this recipe.

Add your frozen bananas to your high-speed blender or food processor (*must be a powerful blender).

Next, add avocado, cacao powder, and protein powder (if adding). Add about 1/4 cup of water to start. This will help with the blending, especially if you’re using a blender versus a food processor.

Blend thoroughly until smooth and creamy. You will need to scrap down the sides a few times and continue blending.

If you want to add in some fun toppings, save those until the end!

Mix-in and Topping Ideas

Mix-in and topping ideas include:

  • Granola of choice such as Almond Butter Protein Granola
  • Crumble cookie of choice such as Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip Cookies
  • Top with or mix in chopped nuts (peanuts or almonds would be delicious!)
  • Swirl in or top with nut butter (I used almond butter)
  • Top with a chocolate drizzle
  • Top with cacao nibs
  • Top with a non-dairy whipped cream (So Delicious is my favorite)
  • Top with or chopped fruit, like berries or cherries.

Chocolate Banana Nice Cream is paleo-friendly, dairy-free and can be enjoyed immediately after making as a soft-serve ice cream or by the scoop if you let it harden in the freezer for several hours or overnight.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 ½ Bananas frozen
  • ¼ Avocado
  • 2 Tbs Cacao Powder
  • ¼ – ½ Nut Milk or Water

Mix-Ins

  • Chocolate Chips
  • Chopped Nuts
  • Granola
  • Crumbled Cookie

Toppings

  • Melted Chocolate
  • Nut Butter
  • Chopped Nuts
  • Whipped Cream
  • Chopped Fruit

Instructions
 

  • Add the frozen bananas, avocado, cacao powder, and nut milk or water to a high-speed blender or food processor.
  • Blend until smooth and creamy. You will need to scrap down the sides of the blender a few times.
  • If adding any mix-ins, stir them into the nice cream once fully blended.
  • Enjoy as a soft-serve or transfer to a dish and place in the freezer for 5-6 hours or overnight for a scoop-friendly nice cream. The nice cream will become very hard, so you’ll want to let it sit at least 30 minutes out of the freezer before scooping into a dish or a cone.
  • Top the nice cream with melted chocolate and a spoonful and nut butter. Enjoy!
