I’m sharing my 6 BEST steps to a profitable online health coaching business.

These are strategies I used to successfully grow my own online business to 6-figures (while I was working a demanding corporate job). By using them, I was able to:

  • Land my first paying client at $3,000.
  • Quit my corporate job and scale my health coaching business.
  • Run my business full-time which allows me the ultimate freedom and flexibility.

My philosophy is to keep things simple. I’m all about working smarter and strategically. The steps I lay out for you will save you time and won’t require you to learn a bunch of new skills. You’ll be well on your way to creating a wildly successful health coaching business in no time!

How to Start Making $5-$10K per Month in Your Business Quickly

The fastest way to earn $5,000 – $10,000 per month in your health coaching business is to offer private coaching. This is not to say that you can’t expand your offerings down the road (and you should!), but when you’re first getting started, one-to-one coaching is always the best.

  • You can price your coaching packages at $1,500 (and this is what you start out with). This means that you can grow your business faster and replace your 9-5 in months, rather than years. 
  • They’re easier to sell because you’re selling your time and services. Your business is built on relationships.
  • You get to know your audience inside-out, which means that it becomes so much easier to sell online courses in the future. 
  • You can literally get started right now. No products are needed, no sales funnel. Just the steps I outline for you below:

1.Create something that solves a problem that your ideal client will pay for

2. Understand what your ideal client cares about. Know what their pain points are.

3. Offer a quick win (this is really key!)

4. Find where your audience is spending time

5. Create a constant flow of clients by giving value

6. Make offers daily on social media

Now, before we dive in, I want you to think about your WHY. Why did you want to become a health coach in the first place? It’s important to keep your why front and center, especially when you hit bumps in the road and things feel tough (everyone has those days). Your why will carry you through.

The most important part of your business is your offer. This is how your business generates money. If people aren’t buying your offer, I wrote an entire post on that and provide you with solutions, so check that out.

The offers that sell are the offers that focus on the results the person can expect, not the specific features.

Ask yourself: “What is my ideal client wanting to achieve?”

A smaller dress size? A better relationship with food? A solution to making easy weeknight dinners?

It comes down to knowing your audience on a deep level. Instead of guessing, do some quick market research and ask a few people directly what they would consider paying for. This can be friends and family!

Understand what your ideal client cares about. Know what their pants points are.

Once you know what your offer is, it’s time to find your clients. You want to focus on the RIGHT people. Those who actually see the value in your offer and are willing to buy it.

You need to speak to your ideal client the right way.

For example, when I first started health coaching, I would say “I don’t want to help my clients lose weight. I want to help them feel good about their bodies and feel confident.” 

While that could be true, your ideal client is looking for a specific, measurable outcome. This is where you really need to listen to their pain points (hint – YOU are usually a past version of your ideal client)

And if their ultimate desire is to lose weight, you won’t sell many health coaching packages by talking about how you help them feel good about themselves.

Offer a quick win

The next step is one that can be a total game-changer in how quickly you grow your business.

You don’t have an established audience yet. You need to build trust with your potential clients. And no, you don’t need testimonials under your belt to do this!

Offer a free, 15-30 minute coaching call that helps people get a quick win. You build trust and people will start to see how valuable your coaching is. You’re essentially giving them a sample of what it’s like to work with you.

The idea of this offer is not to solve the entire problem (which you really can’t do in such a short session), but to show that the end result is possible and that YOU are the person to help them get there.

Find where your audience is spending time

It’s very hard to sell your offer if you don’t get in front of the right audience. You want to go where you know they are.

Think about your ideal client’s frustrations and goals. What Facebook groups or forums would they be a part of?

Create a constant flow of clients by giving value

Now that you know where your audience is hanging out, how do you create a constant stream of clients? 

Go to the Facebook groups and online forums that you found in the previous step.

Give value inside the groups by answering people’s questions and sharing your own helpful tips. The easiest way to get clients is to TALK to potential clients and build those relationships.

Reach out to your network, as well as ask for referrals.

Make offers daily on social media

I saved the best for last. If you’re expecting clients to find you magically, think again. This takes consistent effort. One practice to get into is to make offers daily on social media.

You’re probably asking, “Wait, I need to sell something every single day?” And the answer is yes!

Only 6% of your audience sees every single thing that you post, so never worry about sharing “too much”. Also, it takes people 7-12 times to hear or see an offer before they make a buying decision.

Hop on IG or inside your Facebook group, provide value and then make an invitation to an offer. If you stay consistent with this, your audience will develop trust in you. People buy from those they trust.
